It's an ill wind ... etc. Did I ever tell you about the bloke who won a set
of dive gear in the "Best Letter Competition" in one of the Australian
diving publications?

I'd written a piece about a liveaboard trip and - in passing - mentioned the
fact that I'd been the victim of an unprovoked attack by a Titan
triggerfish. I mentioned that I'd fended the demented fish off by whacking
it over the head with the camera strobe. The piece attracted a very lengthy
'Letter to the Editor' pointing up my lack of respect for the ocean's
critters and, in part, asked how I'd feel if he walked into my bedroom in
the middle of the night, jumped on me, and began hitting me over the head
with a camera strobe? :-)

Personally, I felt that my (unpublished) letter in response to his letter
was far more deserving of a set of dive gear! :-)
