It is quite well known that socks when placed in a washing machine in pairs
will occasionally randomly collapse into a black hole.  These are then
placed inside women's purses to expand the volume of a 2 inch by 3 inch
purse to a sufficient size to cover a 1/2 acre to a depth of several inches.
