For reasons that are not relevant to this topic, I had set up ICS on a
Win98SE system, but did not want to make it the DHCP server, since I also
have a Windows 2000 server. I then had to manually configure the W2K systems
and another Win98SE PC to use the ICS system as their gateway, in Internet
Options. It worked.
While a far better solution would have been to move the shared connection to
the server, I didn't. I've since bought a connection-sharing router.
