Paul Guy wrote, "To turn off XM for a database using SUPRTOOL you must open
the
database in mode-3 and do SET DEFER ON. Make sure you have a good
backup before doing this."

Paul thanks for your note. The reason that we have not done this is that
our earlier experiences with STALLED TRANSACTION were solved by divorcing
Omnidex from XM. You have given us something else to consider.

Please refer to my earlier note (a few minutes back) in which I said that
the process had worked in three other envirnments on the same box.
