Music therapist and one man band Jimmy Rhodes is interested in helping heal
the Chattanooga community with music in the wake of September 11, and UTC
Elderscholars will sponsor a concert featuring Rhodes with vocal
accompaniment from his wife Pam today, Tuesday, January 8, 2002.

Everyone is welcome to enjoy the performances at the Roland Hayes Concert
Hall in the UTC Fine Arts Building.  Local music artists will kick off the
event at noon and Rhodes' performance begins at 1 p.m.

Rhodes' one man band feature has pleased audiences across the country.   A
brass and keyboard instrumentalist with 15 albums to his credit, Rhodes
graduated from Southern Adventist University with a B.S. degree in music
education, and he has a masters degree from the University of Southern
California.

For many years, Rhodes taught band and instruments at elementary schools
and academies from California to Tennessee.

Currently, Rhodes works for Life Care centers of America as Director of
Music Services.  This department develops musical tools for activity
programs and researches the therapeutic
Effects of music.

Pam Rhodes has recorded several albums.  She is a graduate of Loma Linda
University, with a degree in Child Development.  She also holds the M.A. in
Education from La Sierra University and has taught first and second grades.
