Dr. Joseph Kizza of Computer Science has been selected to serve
as an evaluator for the Computer Science Accreditation Board (CSAB)
Program.
CSAB is the lead society among those within the Accreditation
Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). ABET gives accreditation to
programs in computer science, information systems, and software
engineering. In addition, ABET cooperates to accredit computer
engineering. As a result, CSAB is responsible for the development of
accreditation criteria. They also select and train program evaluators.
These evaluators gather essential information and hold primary evaluations
of baccalaureate computing programs for higher education institutions
across the country. The reports of these evaluators form the basis of the
CAC/ABET accreditation process, and it is in this capacity that Dr. Kizza
will be serving CSAB.
Congratulations to Dr. Kizza on being selected for this service. It reflects
well on UTC when our faculty are chosen as disciplinary evaluators.
