There are so many of the 'quackers' around in places like Cozumel and they
carry so well that they are becoming annoying. One quack and several
hundred divers turn to see who is doing and and reaching for their knives to
cut the LP inflator hose. ;-)

hello all ,
sorry if the html and stuff on my posts irritated anyone. i was unaware
of it not working correctly. is this better??

getting back to the aow thing --- pdic does allow some latitude in
the teaching as long as the minimum standards are adhered to. this makes it
easier for a good instructor to function and turn out quality divers.
the buddy alert thing i think is a good option but i personally
still go for the tank banging. the rubber band with a ball around the tank
elimnates having to release the knife . and there air a few air actuated
ones i have seen lately . one customer of mine had one that attached to the
power inflator and sounded like a duck quacking underwater . it always
brought a smile to my face when i heard it.
