Request clarification:  In saying "... from the current environment to
the best fit";  do you define "current environment" as:

[a]   HP support of MPE;  i.e.:  one "future" (out of several) would
be staying with MPE on PA-RISC but getting support from another
entity on or before end of 2006;  and / or emulating MPE on IA
per Wirt's suggestion or variant thereof....

or

[b]   Running MPE on PA-RISC hardware ;  i.e.:  the "best fit" will
always involve leaving MPE behind....


I'm hoping your definition is closer to [a] above;  but figured I
better ask to be sure...
