We got our 918 with 64mb
We updated to 128mb and saw a very noticebale difference
We updated to 192mb and saw a noticeable difference again

 From what I can see, as you update from MPE/iX 6.0 -> 6.5 ->7.0 the memory
requirements of the core MPE/iX seem to increase.

As many have said, buy all the memory you can afford (that fits in the box).
