Here is information on the new naming convention:

First alpha:

sa=appliance *
b=blade
t=tower
r=rack-optimized
s=super-scalable

Second alpha:

c=ia-32
p=pa-risc
x=ia-64

Last 4 digits = model #

* The sa (for appliance) does not conform to the new standard, but these
new products were introduced prior to the finalization of the naming and
it was decided to keep the "sa".

So, the rp stands for" rack-optimized pa-risc server.
