I of course was attempting to say, in a tongue in cheek manner, that MPE
will be around long after its EOS date. Denys though points out a real
issue. I know this issue was discussed during the Y2K fixes. Apparently no
one changed the date intrinsic then (fore shadowing?) and it would appear
that no one at HP will fix it now.

This would lead me to believe that HP like the coroner of the Munchkins is
saying, "She's not merely dead. She's really most sincerely dead."

The opinions expressed herein are my own and not necessarily those of my
employer.

There is an even bigger problem with the year 2028. This is were the 7 bits
of the calendar intrinsic return value will overflow. Preliminary tests
show all sorts of interesting things happening on December 31, 2027 at the
stroke of midnight. Are you familiar with the movie "Groundhog Day?" You
might have seen that déjà vu before.

Kind regards,

Denys. . .

I foresee a problem with MPE support looming in the future. If HP will not
support MPE past 2006 the who is going to update MPE for the Y10K problem?
This is a serious concern.

MPE FOREVER
