Windows NT, 2000 and XP will let you do that all day long. On NT, after
changing the IP address, it says that you need to restart the system.
Simply close that dialog box and continue working. On 2000 and XP, it never
complains about this.
On MPE, you would say :NETCONTROL UPDATE=NETDIR or NETCONTROL UPDATE=ALL

Yes, make the changes in nmmgr & restart all your network stuff.
...and a follow-up question
I have only used Win 95, 98, and ME (thus 3 great reasons why I don't use
windows anymore) so this is probably a question that is obvious to many,
but... is there a version of Windoze that will let you change you IP without
rebooting? 2K? XP?
