Got a letter today from Compaq assuring me that all Compaq products
will be supported for up to five years from the date of the merger
with HP.

Interesting language.
HP assures us of 5 years of MPE, but
Compaq assures it's customers of "up to five" years.
I haven't heard anything from HP about HP-UX or it's other product
lines.
