At the risk of being called a Windows apologist once again, I will answer
this one. First off, yes you definitely want to use NTFS. It is one of the
most advanced file system extant. You want to stay away from FAT16 and
FAT32 like the plague. You can easily convert from FAT32 to NTFS at XP
install time or later. You will only do it once and in one direction only,
unless you buy a third party tool such as Partition Magic.
Kind regards,

Subject: OT: 98 to XP and FAT32 to NTFS
Gang;
I'm considering going to XP in the near future (after the first of the
year). Would it make sense to and what are the ramifications of converting
my drive from FAT32 to NTFS? Would the drive need to be wiped first or is
that something that can be done with a loaded disk?
TIA;
