Skies were crystal clear here in somewhat light polluted Moorestown, NJ.
Between 3:35 - 5:50 EST,
I counted 486 Leonids, give or take a few as they were coming down too fast
to count at times! At
one point, about 5 appeared the same instant!
That's almost 4 meteors a minute! I could only take in so much sky with my
eyes so I know I missed
a few especially given all the Wows I heard from other people at the field
when my head was pointed
the other way.
I saw a particularly bright bollide at around 4:10 am that illuminated the
landscape and left a train that
lasted well over a minute. The intensity of the storm definitely increased
as the night
wore on and was best from 5:00 am on....
