Cognos Axient is a IDE environment that runs under Win32
environments. It supports the PowerHouse scripting languages of
Quiz, and QTP to a large extent. I evaluated v.2.x two years ago
but experienced far too many problems with it at that time to
employ it in that project. V.3 has since been released but I do not
have any current data on this.
What I did see on v.2 was very encouraging and had the data
server platform been an HP3000 running Image instead of an NT4
server running MS-SQL 7 then it is very likely that we would have
gone the Axient route. Cognos will send you a completely
functional demo if you ask them for one.
Regards,
Jim
