<< Several people (including the originator Tracy Johnson) have posted
messages about printing TIFF files with image viewers on the wonderful
Windows PC. >>

Yes, it is difficult to accept incorrect printing of a correct image from a
PC viewer no matter what the O/S version may be. STR Software has seen this
in our own equipment used internally by our staff in the office and at their
homes. You name it, we have it - Windows 95, 98, NT, 2000, ME, XP...

Our solution? Eliminate the dependency upon TIFF images. Our latest 4.8
version of AventX MPE (formerly FAX/3000) defaults to using PDF format as
the e-mail attachment. We just sent our latest newsletter Wednesday using
PDF and received happy comments from several recipients for the change from
TIFF. Finally, all of our product documentation is in PDF format as well.

I have personally never experienced any troubles with printing any PDF
documents. That is why we selected PDF as our default for the latest
version.
