I never thought I would see HP and the Taliban in the same sentence, but
here it is, a headline in today's New York Times: "Stocks Rise on Fortunes
of H-P and Taliban Rout"

record surge in retail sales as consumers flocked to car showrooms in
October, progress in the Afghanistan war and solid earnings from
