As expected (and promised) HP has announced the end of the HP3000. They
also have announced the following:

No port of MPE to IA-64

Open Source of MPE is being discouraged, but they will listen to proposals

On the Open Source issue, HP says that they don't see the value of this
because if they couldn't hold the "ecosystem" (HP's new word for customers
and ISV's, I suppose) together, how is anyone else going to be able to do
it?
