Alas... after so much time spent porting apps to the 3000, the tables are
turned.
So I am trying to see if I can compile some stardard MPE/Cobol/Image programs
on Linux/Cobol/Eloquence.
First we did some testing with the compiler (we're trying TinyCobol as we
patiently wait to see if the email form on Acucorp's web site goes anywhere)
to see what we have to work with. We wrote a basic Cobol program to do some
DISPLAYS & ACCEPT statements, all good. Then we added some calls to functions
in the libpq & libpgeasy libraries, linked the libraries and those worked
fine.
Now, Eloquence comes with a libimage3k.so compatability library that has all
the DBOPEN, DBGET, etc...functions. So we have our program with Image calls
compiled but when I go to link it, it coughs up unresolved externals on all
the DB calls. I used "-limage3k" and "-L/path/to/library" to do the link,
does someone know if I have to do something different with ".so" libraries.
It works fine with ".a" libraries.
I know this is probably not really the right place to ask but I figured the
porters out there might know and it is relevent to today's topic.
