I can see that the list is quite busy discussing the future, but may I
interrupt with a current problem?...3rd post; trimmed for quick read.
Please?

I do a full backup on a quiet system, and don't need or want STORE's
'helpful' DBOPEN, which apparently is done to ensure Image integrity, and as
a byproduct, changes the root file's modified- and accessed- dates. I need
to be able to see when these DBs were REALLY last opened/touched.

I'm on 6.0, using FOS STORE (no Turbo products). PARTIALDB sounds good, but
this documented override of STORE's integrity checks either doesn't work or
I'm not reading right - each root file gets updated every day when using
this syntax:

:STORE /;*tape;show;partialdb

It's been suggested and demonstrated (thanks, Patrick!) that doing...

:STORE ./rootfile;*tape;show

...does NOT goof with the dates, even though there's no PARTIALDB. I
suppose it follows that I could do my own listfile / and use that as input
to STORE. Does anyone know of a patch or better workaround?
