I have one word for you:

        Alpha.

We couldn't believe Compaq would kill their most profitable product lines
and the fastest and most powerful CPU line in the world, but they did, then
they announced the HP merge.

This is all part and parcel of the same thing. HP/Compaq want to sell
commodity Intel hardware and Microsoft operating systems. We just didn't
believe it could really happen.
