What about the argument that the merger will increase costs to the consumer in certain sectors?

There are certainly a lot of big healthcare providers and insurers heavily using the HP3000, and cost of early(er) replacement would in the end be borne by consumers (employers/employees). Case in point: Amisys as the primary healthcare management application for many companies (but not mine).

I invite comments on whether it is "professionally ethical" for a DP type to lobby HP and COMPAQ stockholders to vote against the merger on htese grounds.
