The only FACT I can offer is that, at HP's very courteous but nevertheless
very insisting demand, we've been asked to postpone a strategic customer
meeting (80-plus attendees expected) that was scheduled Nov. 15th. It's a
bit far-fetched to imagine the demise of the HP(e)3000 will be announced at
that date, but that is, of course, one of our hypotheses. There are others,
like some strategic annoucement linked to the proposed HP-Compaq merger, a
restructuring of the distribution network (we are an HP Busniess Partner),
and still many more.

The rest being rumors, I decline to elaborate.
