FWIW.

I can not "COPY" a compatibility mode ksam file at all.  I get get
"The copy operation may only be performed on local, permanent,
non-spooled disk files. (CIERR 9116)".

And when I "COPY" a native mode ksam file, I get ... a native mode ksam
file.

I have MPE/iX v6.0.
