The last Spanish film for this semester is The Grandfather / El abuelo (1998).
 The film is by Jose Luis Garci and is based on the novel by Benito Pérez
Galdós.  The film is in color, in Spanish with yellow English subtitles and is
147 minutes long [2 1/2 hours].

A deeply moving drama about an elderly man who leaves America to return to
Spain on a mission to find which of his granddaughters is truly of his blood.
His search is spurred by the knowledge that his son's widow was unfaithful
during their marriage.

Cast:  Fernando Fernan-Gomez, Rafael Alonso, etc

Nominated for an Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film
Nominated for 13 Goya Awards

The film will be shown MONDAY, DECEMBER 3rd at 8:00pm in BROCK HALL 201.
