The UTC Walker Teaching Resource Center has licensed "Using Information
Technology in the Traditional Classroom"- part of a program of the 2001 -
2002 PBS Teleconference Series "Instructional Technology Survival Skills:
A 'How-to' Series for Faculty."

The program will be offered LIVE on November 29, 2:30 - 4:00 pm in the UTC
University Center Signal Mountain Room.

Program topics will include:  using online options to expand access to
course content for students, use e-mail and discussion forums to increase
communication with and among students, taking advantage of web sites and
other ancillary online materials, how to avoid typical pitfalls of
instructional technology infusion.

There is a companion web site for the teleconference at:

The web site supplements the live teleconference with more material and
interactivity and includes a detailed description, supplemental articles
and readings, and an opportunity to e-mail questions to the panelists
before the event.  The pages are updated regularly as the air date
approaches,

I hope you will join us for the live event.  In the event that you can't, a
tape of the program will be available for check out from the Walker
Teaching Resource Center, 401 Hunter Hall.
