The German Academic Exchange Service is accepting applications for "Study
Visit Research Grants for Faculty". The grants provide one to three months
of support to scholars in all academic and scientific disciplines to pursue
research at universities, libraries, archives or research institutes in
Germany. Awards are for specific research projects. At least two years of
teaching and/or research experience after the PhD and a research record in
the proposed field are required.

The award is a stipend ranging from (approximately) $1500 to $1700/month.
Recepients may also qualify for additional funds (approximately $135
maximum) for research-related travel within Germany.

Applicants should possess adequate knowledge of the German language to
carry out the proposed research. This requirement is not obligatory for
applicants in the natural or engineering sciences.

Deadlines: February 1, 2002 for visits during the second half of 2002.
August 1, 2002 for visits during the first half of 2003.

See http://www.daad.org/facs.htm for application materials and more
