Hi,

I'm very new to the HP3000 world. I am researching the feasibility of bringing some software to the HP3000. The software requires programs on remote systems (say NT or Unix) connecting to the HP3000 via TCP/IP and communicating with say Cobol applications. The question is: do I need to implement both a 2392A emulation using the NT/VS protocol and a 700/9x emulation using the telnet protocol to be applicable to the majority of HP3000 systems or are these protocols independent of the application running on the HP and hence only implement one of them (say the 700/92).

Thanks for any help or pointers.
