I'm setting up a system that will have 3 DLT tape drives and I have been
told that each drive needs its own FWD SCSI controller. I understand that
a DLT consumes the entire bandwith of a FWD SCSI channel, but the plan for
three drives is to be able to preload tapes for three days' (a holiday
weekend's) backup without needing a operator to mount new tapes. Is there
any reason that I can't hang all three drives on a single FWD SCSI
controller as long as I only use one drive at a time?

TIA
