This is a long shot, but you can get duplicate messages when using Inbox
Rules in Outlook.  Once I accidentally put HP3000-L in the 'Adult Content
Senders' list.  Outlook moved a copy to the Deleted Items Folders and
another to my HP3000-L Unread folder.

Just a thought...
