Regarding Denys' and Arthur Frank's postings,
I offer you the following tidbits of information.
1. We have a software offering that downloads and
presents student information on a Palm. This
application is a gret benefit to school administrators
and for teachers that need to take attendance
remotely from a formal classroom (pe teachers).
2. We use the appForge development environment
which allows us to code in VB and run on the Palm.
3. We chose the Palm because our customers are choosing
the Palm and it currently has ~ 70% market share.
4. However, some of our customers are evaluating pocketpc
products like the iPaq. They especially like the iPaq
and we will eventually be using the appForge tools
to port our Palm solution to the iPaq and equivalent
systems.
5. The data we download is hot-synched from the HP e3000
via a PC connected cradle.
