Back to the context. The question was why I asked if Bob or Strike would be
attending and what I perceived has everything to do with the basis of my
answer. Nit pick the rest to death if you like, but nothing except the fact
that I will not impose myself when I think doing so will damage someone
else's enjoyment of a trip or my own is significant to my explanation. My
perception that this is what would happen, whether you agree or not, whether
you believe I've interpreted things right or not, is the basis the basis for
my question. Since it is my decision to make, it gets to be my perception
that counts.
