hello folks @ 3000-l,

re: FTP of empty file displays error message.

----------------------------------------------David T Darnell writes--
We have a number of FTP jobs that send files which might sometimes
contain zero records. This is not necessarily an error condition, but
FTP prints a message "CONNECTION CLOSED;TRANSFER ABORTED", (but, IIRC,
does not set FTPLASTERROR.)
----------------------------------------------------------------------

This could be a possible match for SR 1653295980 which can be located
on the HP-ITRC. I found this SR by initially searching for "FTP and
EOF" on the HP-ITRC.

Fixed in:
FTPFDR3 for C.55.00
FTPFDP3 for C.60.00
FTPFDU8 for C.65.00
Base Release for C.70.00

These patches are all General Release.

If this problems is seen with the recommended General Release patch
installed, then it would be good to report the problem to the HP-RC.

Note: Corrections to the setting of FTPLASTERROR has also been
resolved in the same patches as per SR 8606132067 which again could be
located on the HP-ITRC by searching for "FTPLASTERROR".

Fixed in:
FTPFDR3 for C.55.00
FTPFDP3 for C.60.00
FTPFDU8 for C.65.00
Base Release for C.70.00

To promote self sufficiency I would suggest keeping systems up to date
with the General Release patches and searching the HP-ITRC and 3000-L
archives for solutions.
