Another approach might be using I/O redirection similar to

 :linkedit "listprog omniutil.pub.disc" > tempfile

You can use :PRINT TEMPFILE to view as many lines as desired
or even use :XEQ /bin/grep "-i something" < TEMPFILE to search
for specific lines (e.g. symbol declarations).
