I am not old enough to remember it, but all this talk of war, revenge, and
the opposition to it (appeasement, restraint, wait and see) is reminiscent
of the Chamberlain who said:

"My good friends, for the second time in our history, a British Prime
Minister has returned from Germany bringing peace with honour. I believe it
is peace for our time...
Go home and get a nice quiet sleep."

Peace with honour?  Isn't that what we got in Vietnam? (Which I *am* old
enough to remember)

The only way to deal with a bully is to stand up to them.
