Anger? Nope; just impatience with people who should know better continuing to propagate stuff like this. Ask around; anger is an emotion that no one on this list (or anyone they know, or anyone known by anyone they know, or...) has ever seen me demonstrate. Everything I post is deliberate, well-thought-out communication (which, of course, doesn't keep it from being completely wrong on occasion). As for anger "getting the best of" me, that has happened exactly once in my 45+ years, and I can assure you that something like this--from someone completely unknown--is nowhere close to the required levels of either importance or impact.

Regarding "shifting responsibility": sorry, but I just can't see a statement that "well, I thought this might be bogus, but I posted it anyway so someone else would do the work to check it out" as anything else.

Please take your own "calm down" advice. This was not a personal attack against you. You made a mistake; numerous people over the years have made the same mistake (thus the "impatience" reference). The important thing is to learn from it.

Steve
