I believe you can set it up 1 of 3 ways...

1-random - Software is in charge of selecting which tape is used from which
slot
2-stacker - tape 1 is used, then tape 2 then tape 3 until all tapes have
been used
3-autodetect - autoloader somehow detects whether to use mode 1 or 2

I have 3 of these.  None running on my HP3000.  2 on HP-UX systems running
Omniback and 1 running on a Win NT system using Retrospect.  Software is in
charge of choosing tapes on all three systems.  Omniback has no problems.
Retrospect has issues on some days.
