Dr. Robert Keller of the Biological & Environmental Sciences Department has
been awarded $15,000 from the National Park Service to fund the Chickamauga
and Chattanooga National Military Park Climbing Management Project.

Dr. Keller and his staff will conduct scientific research to study
the impact of recreational activities, such as climbing or hiking,
on soil and plant life in the Chickamauga and Chattanooga National
Military Park. This study will provide critical data for park managers
in determining carrying capacity, and if necessary, recreational use limits.

Congratulations to Dr. Keller on receiving the funding to implement this
project, and best wishes for its success.
