The reason that the ROTC program was closed at UTC several years ago,
about 1994 I believe, was the US Army decided to close a number of small
ROTC programs across the country.  We did not want to discontinue the
program, but we had no choice in the matter.  I would support the
resumption of the program if we could get the Army to agree.
