G'Day, Robert!  Forgive my butting in here, but are you thinking of the
Christensen Research Institute? that's close to Jais Aben Resort.  It's been
about five years since I was last there, but I seem to remember that prior
permission was required before visting the Institute - something that time
didn't permit on that particular trip.   :-)
