No, FCOPY doesn't understand HFS directly, but "bits is bits" and
"directories are directories." The following workaround works in every case
that I've tried so far:

     :file f=./images/jim_phillips.gif
     :fcopy from=*f;to=;char;hex

Backreferenced file equations allow MPE namespace-only programs to read,
write and append to what would otherwise appear to be POSIX namespace files.
