Donna,

Have you tried using a line continuation (&) in the 80 byte stdin file to
break your command into multiple lines?

Subject: stdin for ftp?

hi all!

it appears that the default record width for the stdin file
for ftp is 80 bytes. is there a way to get around this? we
tried using a 256-byte wide file....but ftp happily clips
the contents off at 80-bytes. - d
