It looks like the company will be buying an A-500 system configured with
two 9 GB drives to replace the 937.

I found some messages in the 3000-l archive that suggest there should be at
least two drives in a user volume set although the references seemed to be
about 4 GB drives.

I'm wondering whether anything has changed with MPE/iX 7.0 and/or the A
series hardware. Is it a bad (or good) idea to make the second drive a
user volume and put all the application and data files on the that
drive? Or is leaving both drives in the system volume set the better choice?

Thanks!
