Following the sinking of the former HMAS SWAN - soon to be followed by the
HMAS PERTH - in Westrn Australia, it looks like us eastern coast folks will
soon have a purpose-sunk wreck of our own, the former HMAS BRISBANE! :-)

"HMAS Brisbane had two tours off Vietnam and was part of the Australian task
force during the 1990/91 Gulf War.

(snip)
"While BRISBANE is the last steam powered ship in the RAN, its
decommissioning will herald the passing of the Guided Missile Destroyer
class that, in the 1960s, embraced new technology and brought the RAN into
the missile age."

As a dive site it'll be a far better fate than the ignominy of being turned
into razor-blades and saucepans! :-)
