According to the "HP e3000 Business Servers Configuration Guide", the
maximum number of devices for SE SCSI is 7, and 15 for F/W/D SCSI.
Addresses for Fast/Wide range from 0/15 (4 bits), and SE addresses are 0-7
(3 bits). In both cases, 7 is used for the host adapter.

This is not correct. Any 8-bit SCSI bus is limited to 7 target IDs plus
the adapter; the signaling method used is irrelevant. Likewise, a 16-bit
SCSI bus--*any* 16-bit bus--supports 15 target IDs plus the adapter, and
the signaling used is again irrelevant. In both cases each target ID can
support from 1 to 8 LUNs. So, the device limits are 56 devices for 8-bit
setups and 120 devices for 16-bit systems.
