Dear Listmembers,

I'd be interested in configurations for MPE read access to IBM/MVS DB2
tables, in under 1 second. The desired solution would not involve
sockets-level programming - looking for a higher-level implementation - but
would still like to hear if you rolled your own.

We would use either Speedware or COBOL or both on the MPE side.

I have seen some interesting SyBase implementations (hiya Tom R.) but they
were a little slow for my purposes.

Also, are there any ODBC clients for MPE?

You might check out the Bridgemaster product from Linkway
http://bridgemaster.csllink.com/

In testing it sucessfully connected real time to SQL Server from a Cobol
application, and should connect to any ODBC compliant database.
