I also set a file equation to test if a classname is valid. But you can
also test it with a SHOWDEV command.

:FILE LP;DEV=KEVEN
                     ^
Unknown device class. (CIERR 344)
:FILE LP;DEV=5KEV
:SHOWDEV 5KEV
         ^
Logical device class "5KEV" cannot be found on the system. (CIERR 1583)
