Has anyone noticed a problem using the FORMSPEC 'R' option to renumber a
file?

I copied an existing form to a new form in the same forms file, modified
it
slightly and then renumbered the file and compiled the forms file. One
of
the changes I made was to delete the existing field 1, which was why I
later
renumbered the file, and then changed some text on the form background.

Listing the file showed the field numbers as expected from 1 to 18. But,
when my cobol code call VCHANGEFIELDS to alter the enhancement on field
1,
it errored out saying the field did not exist. After stepping through
the
code with the debugger and verifying that the parameters passed were
correct, I went back into FORMSPEC and again renumbered the form and
compiled the forms file. Ran the cobol code and same error.

Finally I ran FORMSPEC in batch mode and renumbered the form, formspec
replied that there was no need to renumber this form, and recompiled the
forms file.

Everything is now working as expected.

Strange.

Well I hate say duh, but "R" is not for renumber online in FORMSPEC. The
command is "N". "R" is for relate and has to do with child forms. See
below.
