Highlighting is accomplised using an escape sequence embedded in the text.
HP terminals interpret the sequence and change the display as needed. Here
is a list that might help.

<snip>

Escape Sequences for HP3000 terminals.....

 Turn on is [Esc]&dA (where A is the option)
 Turn off is [Esc]&d@ (yes, actually use the "@" symbol)

For example, to print "This is My Text" blinking.....

!COMMENT [Esc]&dAThis is My Text [Esc]&d@

To have the text "This is" in inverse video, but the remainder
of the sentence normal.....

!COMMENT   [Esc]&dBThis is[Esc]&@ My Text.

The codes for each display type are:

A - Blinking
B - Inverse Video
C - Blinking inside Inverse Video
D - Underlined
E - Blinking Underlined
F - Underlined inside Inverse Video
G - Blinking Underlined inside Inverse Video
H - Half Bright
I - Blinking in Half Bright
J - Half Bright Inverse Video
K - Blinking inside Half Bright Inverse Video
L - Underlined in Half Bright
M - Blinking Underlined in Half Bright
N - Underlined in Half Bright Inverse Video
O - Blinking Underlined in Half Bright Inverse Video

</snip>

Hope this helps. And, be nice. Don't send messages to all
sessions. And be aware that console printers don't like
escape sequences.

Rs~
